NAIOP Colorado Community Relations Committee (CRC) seeks to provide NAIOP members various opportunities to volunteer and get involved in their community. This Thanksgiving some of the NAIOP members partnered with the Heart & Hand Center for Youth to provide 22 Thanksgiving meals to the children of the center and their families. The Heart & Hand Center is an after school center for at-risk youth ages 6-16. Located in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood, The Heart & Hand Center offers a warm meal and various physical and educational activities for the children between the hours of 3-7pm Monday-Thursday. In addition, the Center provides their families once a week with a back-pack filled with non-perishable goods. The Center is currently at capacity with a wait list in place.
Participating NAIOP members received a box, which was decorated by a child, and filled it with all of the traditional Thanksgiving trimmings. Those boxes were then dropped off at the NAIOP office in time for the center to provide them to the families on November 20th. Jennifer Taylor with ANB Bank sits on the Community Relations Committee and coordinated the efforts between The Heart & Hand Center and the participating NAIOP members. A big thank you goes out to the following NAIOP members and committees that participated in the 2012 Thanksgiving meal drive:
