Jim Mulligan, Partner with Snell & Wilmer, LLP, welcomed a sold out crowd on August 21st at NAIOP Colorado’s educational series titled “Development 201: The Amazing Race – From Napkin Ideas to Urban Gems”. This five part breakfast series, running from August through December, will explore the “second-level” topics of teaming, land use, purchase agreements, financing, marketing and leasing as it relates to commercial real estate developments.
This initial session featured an in-depth panel discussion about the process for selecting the best possible development team. Guest presenters included with Dean Barber, Vice President at McWhinney, and Bryon White, President and CEO of Milender White Construction Company. Barber and White spoke candidly about their roles and shared their thought processes as well as what each looks for in the other as they head down the development path. The presentations were followed by audience Q&A. One attendee remarked that the speakers provided “excellent insights and were very prepared with their respective topics.”
The next session of the series “Follow the Route Markers: Navigating the Planning, Zoning & Entitlement Maze” is scheduled for September 18th and will feature City and County of Denver Senior City Planner, Michelle Pyle and Assistant City Attorney Kerry Buckey and Sean Maley, Vice President of CRL Associates, Inc.
