On Wednesday, April 2nd, international expert and senior fellow at the Washington D.C.-based Brookings Institute, Anthony Downs, will speak at the ULI Luncheon on jittery financial markets. His new ULI book Niagara of Capital: How Global Capital Has Transformed Housing and Real Estate Markets, analyzes the role easy capital played in the collapse of the sub prime market, the credit crunch and stock market decline. In his book, Mr. Downs further outlines other scenarios threatening the flow of capital into real estate, including a major rise on interest rates; continued sharp declines in the value of the dollar; a dramatic deterioration of the worldwide economy; and a recession in the U.S. All registrants will receive a free copy of Niagara of Capital.
